Jackowo, Redzikowo, Godętowo | 'With classics through Poland': Polish Violin Duo

On the 4th, 5th and 6th of August 2023, as part of the ‘With classics through Poland’ series, the Polish Violin Duo will perform in Folwark Jackowo (6.00 pm), in Lądowisko Kultury in Redzikowo (6.00 pm) and in the Godętowo Palace (4.00 pm).

The aim of the project, which began in the second half of 2019, is to reach smaller centers, cities, towns and villages with music programmes performed by the most outstanding Polish artists: to those audiences who have limited access to direct contact with classical music.

In August, the Polish Music Management, operating at the National Institute of Music and Dance, will visit Pomeranian Voivodeship together with the Polish Violin Duo.

Białystok | ‘Ecie-pecie’ performance on the 80th anniversary of the death of Zygmunt Białostocki

Ecie 12.8.23The premiere sentimental performance ‘Ecie-pecie’ on the 80th anniversary of the death of Zygmunt Białostocki will remind us of the somewhat forgotten works of the outstanding composer of the interwar period, born in Białystok, who died in the Warsaw Ghetto.

On the 12th of August, 2023 at 18.00, in Białystok's TON Cinema (Rynek Kościuszki 2), the singer Dariusz Wójcik (author of the script and director of the show), Szaweł Lipski Klezmer Quartet and dancers from Twist Białystok - Ballroom Dance Studios will perform. Free tickets are available at the St. Kazimierz at the ‘TON’ Cinema.

Warsaw | 66th International Festival of Contemporary Music ‘Warsaw Autumn’

‘Sounding things’ is the theme of the 66th International Festival of Contemporary Music ‘Warsaw Autumn’. Between the 15th and the 23rd of September, 2023, classical instruments and ensembles will be juxtaposed with new constructions that composers and performers will treat as resounding objects. Many objects will become objectphones - new instruments!

The works of 81 artists will be presented, 42 of whom are associated with Poland. In 12 points on the map of Warsaw, 47 mainstream events, Warsaw Autumn Club and Little Warsaw Autumn will take place. 22 works will be presented for the first time. 5 orchestras, 1 choir, 11 ensembles and 23 soloists will perform. There will be 16 events accompanying the festival.

This year's ‘Warsaw Autumn’ guest festival is the ‘Ad Libitum’ festival: a special concert and a meeting with the creators of the festival will be held on this occasion. And on the 22nd of September, during another special concert, organized by the Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne, the New Music Orchestra, Agata Zubel, Dorota Adamczak and Michele Marelli will perform under the direction of Szymon Bywalec.

The Silesian Chamber Music Society invites you to a series of concerts ‘Muzyka na wagę’, which will take place from July 29 to August 27, 2023 in Bytom, Będzin, Tarnowskie Góry and Czerwionka-Leszczyny. The key to all events of this artistic eco-project are plastic caps, which are, in a way, an admission ticket.

The concerts will take place at the Mieroszewski Palace in Będzin, the Palace in Miechowice, the Palace in Rybna, the Cultural and Educational Center in Czerwionka-Leszczyny and the Park at the Castle in Leszczyny. ‘Tickets’ (caps) will be collected before entering the concert and handed over to the city's ‘baskets-hearts’.

The repertoire of concerts has been designed in a way that whole families can participate: the programme includes Polish contemporary music and film music (including works by Wojciech Kilar, Henryk Kuźniak, Andrzej Kurylewicz, Jerzy Matuszkiewicz, Dariusz Zboch), a musical fairy tale, masterpieces of classical music, Neapolitan and operetta arias from the repertoire of Jan Kiepura, and a musical marriage of classical with electronic beat.

Warsaw | 'Folk traditions' - theme of the 5th International Music Festival of Central and Eastern Europe ‘Eufonie'

Eufonie 23The 5th International Music Festival of Central and Eastern Europe ‘Eufonie’, organized by the National Center for Culture, will take place on November 17-25, 2023. The main theme of this year's festival will be folk traditions that reflect national identity and are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists. During ‘Eufonie’, they will be presented in a classical, experimental and jazz approach, as well as in a traditional form - thanks to the Olza Song and Dance Ensemble and Kapela Lipka.

Renowned orchestras and outstanding soloists will take part in this year's edition, including BBC Symphony Orchestra, whose performance will initiate the Festival, Łukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski together with Rebel Babel Orchestras, Vadim Gluzman, Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, Thomas Sanderling, Anna Sułkowska-Migoń, Zsolt Nagy, Hover State Chamber Choir. During the final concert performed by Sinfonia Varsovia, the Warsaw Philharmonic Choir and the Poznań Boys' Choir conducted by Zsolt Nagy and we will hear the monumental Lauds by Krzysztof Penderecki; the soloists will be Bożena Bujnicka, Agnieszka Rehlis, Rafał Bartmiński, Tomasz Konieczny and Volodymyr Tyshkov.

Composition Competition ‘Rumina – 800’

The aim of the Composition Competition ‘Rumina – 800’ is to enrich the achievements of music culture with new works created on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the first mention of Rumia. The deadline for submitting scores is the 20th of September, 2023.

The subject of the competition is a composition to Kazimierz Nowosielski's Pieśn pochwalna (Song of Praise). The choice of performers, instruments or vocals is free. Duration of the piece - up to 17 minutes.

Gdańsk | 5th International Baltic Piano Competition

On November 19-26, 2023, the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk will host the 5th International Baltic Piano Competition. The prize pool is PLN 60,000. Applications should be submitted via the electronic Application Form available on the Competition website by the 1st of September, 2023.

The Director of the Competition is Prof. Paweł Rydel, and the artistic director - Prof. Michał Mossakowski. The Competition is open to pianists from all over the world (except Russia and Belarus), born between 1990 and 2007.

The competition consists of a video pre-selection, two solo stages and a final with a symphony orchestra. In the first stage, participants may perform any piece or pieces, including works by contemporary Polish composers.

The Jury of the Competition will include recognized artists and pedagogues. The chairman of the Jury will be Michel Dalberto, winner of the 6th International Piano Competition in Leeds (1978).

Admission to all competition events is free.

18th International Kazimierz Serocki Composition Competition

The subject of the 18th International Kazimierz Serocki Composition Competition will be works for a chamber ensemble composed of 3 to 5 instruments listed in the rules of the Competition, without the participation of a conductor. The deadline for submitting scores is the 7th of October, 2023. The project is held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Polish Composers' Union.

Composers of all nationalities can take part in the project without any age limit. Works with a duration of 10-16 minutes, including those performed in public, as well as awarded in other competitions, may be admitted to the Competition.

Co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the ‘Music’ programme implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

Łódź | 'Maciej Tubis - Prząśniczka 600': musical gift on the occasion of birthday of the city of Łódź

On the 29th of July, 2023 at 12.00 on the stage at Tuwim's Bench, on the occasion of the celebration of Łódź's 600th birthday, an unusual version of the city's bugle call will sound - Stanisław Moniuszko's Prząśniczki, interpreted by Maciej Tubis.

The task ‘Maciej Tubis - Prząśniczka 600’ is being implemented thanks to funding from the budget of the City of Łódź.
