New broadcast season of MET will start with Verdi's "Aida" on October 6

MET

The new broadcast season of the famous Metropolitan Opera will open on 6 October 2018 with the monumental performance of Aida by Giuseppe Verdi. HD live broadcast in the original language (Italian) with Polish subtitles will be held at the Praha Cinema in Warsaw at 6:35 p.m.

The upcoming season of broadcasts from The Metropolitan Opera will be special for the Polish audience. It will feature two Polish artists: Aleksandra Kurzak, who will perform on February 2, 2019 as Micaëla alongside her husband Robert Alagny in Goerges Bizet's Carmen, and Piotr Beczała, who will sing along with Anna Netrebko in a new production of Adriana Lecouvreur by Francesco Cilea on January 12, 2019.

The 13th season of "The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD" will open the broadcast of the flagship performance of MET – Aida by Giuseppe Verdi with soprano Anna Netrebko in the title role, going toe-to-toe with mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili as Amneris. The monumental opera, telling the tragic story of love from the time of the pharaohs, could not count on a more beautiful setting than the one prepared in MET by Sonja Frisell. According to the nineteenth-century tradition, the performance literally drips with gold and sparkles with the colors of rich decorations.
