On December 11-12, 2018, the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań will host the 7th edition of the National Scientific Conference "Neofonia". The event will be accompanied by the Intercollegiate Composers' Concert.
The theme of this year's edition of the conference – (co)creation – aims to show the richness of possibilities flowing from the creative cooperation of many authors, as well as the relationship of music with other disciplines as a basis for new works. The two-day debates will be attended by students from universities in Bologna, Bydgoszcz, Kraków, Las Palmas, Poznań and Wrocław. The conference will be inaugurated by Dr Michał Krawczak's lecture (Institute of Theater and Media Art, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań), and will be closed by the speech of Teresa Nowak (Zamek Culture Centre in Poznań).
Traditionally, the Intercollegiate Composers' Concert will take place on the first day of the "Neofonia" in the Aula Nova of the Poznań Academy of Music. The programme will include chamber works by young artists representing Polish and European music academies: Jan Skorupa, Justyna Tobera, Monika Wierbiłowicz, Wiktoria Różycka, Sławomir Kandziory, Wojciech Krzyżanowski, Piotr Reddigka, Magdalena Chlebowska, Dominik Puk, Sebastian Dembski, Robert Gogol, Ernest Crista González Alemán, Kacper Krupa, Jan Migdal, Agnieszka Rusiecka, Magdalena Gorwa, Leonard Tommasini and Zuzanna Matuszewska.
The event is held under the honorary patronage of the Rector of the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region and the Mayor of Poznań. The event is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The organizer is the Artistic and Academic Circle of Composition and Music Theory Students of the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. Admission to all events is free!
