Jazz violinist and composer Adam Bałdych and Baltic Neopolis Orchestra will perform the new composition in the Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Szczecin on November 26, 2015 at 8.00. The concert will be broadcast live on the Polish Radio Szczecin.
Mosaic - Impressions is a multi-part suite inspired by the cultures of immigrants who moved on the western territories after World War II. In 1945 the areas of the Zachodniopomorskie, Lubuskie and Lower Silesia were populated by representatives of Jewish, Lemko, Polesie and German cultures. Adam Bałdych’s composition starts a dialogue with those cultures and makes an attempt to extract their key features and connect them with contemporary composition techniques. The work was written for string orchestra, solo violin, piano, bass and percussion, and combines elements of classical, jazz and folk music.
