Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will perform its anniversary concert on February 17, 2017 at the Philharmonic in Łódź.
February 17th marks the 102th anniversary of the first concert performed by the ensemble which later on became the Łódź Symphony Orchestra. During the anniversary concert, the Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir with the soloists under the baton of Kai Baumann will present Overture in E major, Op. 12 and Symphony No. 3 "Song of the Night" by Karol Szymanowski, Sinfonie Concertante in B-flat major, Op. 36 by Peter Josef von Lindpaintner, and Fanfare for orchestra by Mikołaj Górecki (composed on the occasion of the Philharmonic Orchestra’s centenary celebrations in 2016).
The solo parts will be performed by the members of the Orchestra - oboist Agata Piotrowska-Bartoszek, bassoonist Krzysztof Kamiński, clarinetist Roman Pryliński, horn player Zbigniew Monkiewicz and flutist Ewelina Zawiślak.
