The 26th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival

The 26th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival will be held between the 3rd and 15th of April 2022. The leitmotif of the festival is Beethoven as "the father of the great symphonic tradition". During the 13 days of the festival, 11 symphonic concerts and 2 piano recitals will take place.  Performances of works by Beethoven, Berlioz, Liszt, Szymanowski and Penderecki among others are going to take place. A special concert will be devoted to the activities of the Polish Medical Mission in Ukraine.

Yekwon Sunwoo - gold medalist of the van Cliburn Piano Competition, from 2017, Juan Pérez Floristán - winner of the A. Rubinstein Piano Competition in 2021, Jonathan Fournel - this year's winner of the Queen Elizabeth Competition in Belgium and Martin James Bartlett - winner of the Virtualoso Competition in Cleveland in 2020 will be Festival's artists.

As part of the Festival, an exhibition of Musical Manuscripts will be opened at the Jagiellonian Library and an international scientific conference will be held on the importance of Ludwig van Beethoven's symphonic works in the European musical tradition.
