Chopin Project: newest NFM CD release

The Chopin project, published in 2023 by NFM and CD Accord, includes products and genres key to Chopin's work: mazurkas, waltzes, preludes, nocturnes and etudes.

The album contains transcriptions for a cello quartet of Chopin works commissioned by the Polish Cello Quartet from three composers: Sabina Meck, Piotr Moss and Leszek Kołodziejski.

On the 30th of November, 2023 at 7.30 p.m. NOSPR, conducted by Danish conductor Bas Wiegers, will premiere Double Concerto "Visions according to Dante" by Marta Ptaszyńska for saxophone, piano and orchestra. The saxophonist Bartłomiej Duś and the pianist Magdalena Duś will perform as soloists.

The programme also includes Siegfried's Idyll written by Ryszard Wagner as a birthday gift for his wife, as well as Grażyna Bacewicz's Serenade for orchestra composed for Polish Radio.

EufonieThe 5th International Festival of Music of Central and Eastern Europe "Eufonie", the only festival in the world that popularizes the musical heritage of this area, will last until te 25th of November. 34 23The 8th music festival "TRZY-CZTE-RY. Konteksty. Kontrasty. Konfrontacje", organized by the Przypływ Kultury Foundation in cooperation with Programme 2 of the Polish Radio, will take place in Warsaw between the 23rd of November and the 16th of December 2023. All concerts will take place in the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio and the Władysław Szpilman Studio of the Polish Radio.

During the inauguration of the Festival, Zygmunt Krauze's Elegy 2022 will be performed for the first time in Poland. On the 1st of December, the Suite for clarinet and string quartet by Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska will be premiered as well: the work was created as part of the "Composers’ Commissions" programme implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

As part of the 32nd String Festival at the Tadeusz Baird Philharmonic in Zielona Góra on the 24th of November, 2023 at 7 p.m. there will be a concert titled "Hommage à..." with the participation of the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, this time conducted by Turkish conductor Murat Cem Orhan. Violinist Maria Machowska and pianist Mischa Kozłowski will perform as soloists.

We will hear Variations on a Theme of Paganini by Witold Lutosławski - version for piano and orchestra, Violin Concerto in B minor, Op. 7 No. 2 by Paganini, Farewell Music in memory of Witold Lutosławski, which is Krzysztof Meyer's tribute to the artist he particularly appreciated. The programme of Friday's event will be complemented by Karłowicz's Lithuanian Rhapsody - a masterpiece of Polish symphonic music.

The final concert of the 5th International Music Festival of Central and Eastern Europe "Eufonie" is a full, two-part version of Krzysztof Penderecki's Utrenja, which will be performed on the 25th of November at the All Saints Church in Warsaw at 7:30 p.m. The soloists will be Bożena Bujnicka, Agnieszka Rehlis, Rafał Bartmiński, Tomasz Konieczny and Volodymyr Tyshkov. Before the concert, the president of Polish Composers’ Union, Mieczysław Kominek, will present Tomasz Konieczny with the Honorary Award of the Polish Composers' Union for his contribution to the promotion of Polish contemporary music.

Approximately 230 artists will tackle the monumental work, including the Warsaw Philharmonic Choir, the Poznań Boys' Choir and Sinfonia Varsovia conducted by Zsolt Nagy (Hungary), who will perform at "Eufonie" for the third time. The concert will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Master's birth.
