Wojciech Jeliński,

trombonist; b. 9 December 1989, Poznań. He graduated with honours from the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań (class of Maciej Łakomy), where he currently holds the position of trombone class assistant. He also graduated from the prestigious Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler under the guidance of Christhard Gössling. Since 2016, he is a member of the Akademie der Berliner Philharmoniker. He has participated in master courses led by such pedagouges and soloists as James Miller, Zoltan Kiss, Kenneth Hanlon, Jamie Williams, Jonas Bylund, Elliot Chasanov, Dietmar Küblböck, Melvyn Poore, Zdzisław Stolarczyk, Maciej Pietraszko and Andrzej Sienkiewicz.

The artist specialises in performing 20th- and 21st-century music. He has performed contemporary pieces composed for trombone at numerous prestigious festivals and composer concerts in Poland (Contemporary Music Festival "Poznań Music Spring", "Music in Old Cracow" Festival) and abroad (project for young European composers "Gramodeska" in Prague and Brno, International Festival "Marathon V" in Vienna, "Zooming: Ireland" in Dublin, "Zooming: Luxembourg" in Luxembourg, Estonian Music Days in Talinn). He appeared on stage at the Witold Lutoslawski Polish Radio Concert Studio in Warsaw (prize-winners concert of the 9th 20th and 21st-Century Music Competition for Young Performers) and at the Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice ("Witold Szalonek in memoriam", a concert organized by PWM Edition), to name only a few. He performed world premieres of works by Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska, Zbigniew Kozub and Artur Kroschel.

He is a member of Sepia Ensemble and trombone quartet TrombQuartet. As a soloist he performed with the Symphony Orchestra of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań (conducted by Jakub Chrenowicz), the Tutta Forza Orchestra (under Rafał Kłoczko) and Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock (under Wojciech Rajski).

Wojciech Jeliński was a quarter-finalist of the 64th ARD International Music Competition in Munich. He was awarded honourable mentions at the International Interpretative Competition for Wind Instruments in Brno (2013) an 20th- and 21st-Century Music Competition for Young Performers in Radziejowice (2012), the 2nd prize at the 8th International Competition for Brass Instruments "Etude" in Szczecin (2011) and the 3rd prize at the 2nd National Competition for Brass Instruments in Katowice (2010).
