Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska,

composer; b. 26th May 1968 in Warsaw. She studied piano improvisation with Szabolcs Esztényi and eurythmics with Barbara Tuska and Katarzyna Tomaszkiewicz at the Fryderyk Chopin Secondary Music School in Warsaw. In 1996 she graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, where she studied composition with Włodzimierz Kotoński. In 2010 she received her PhD and in 2018 her habilitation in composition from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she holds a position of an assistant professor.

In 1994 she won the 1st prize at the Forum of Young Composers in Krakow for Memory loss for percussion solo and tape. Her It's only time... for trumpet, percussion and tape was presented at the 1996 International Rostrum of Composers in Amsterdam. In 2012 she received an honourable mention and audience award at the 6th Petrov International Competition in St. Petersburg, and in 2013 – the 2nd prize at the 6th Mikołów Days of Music. She received scholarships from the ZAIKS Authors' Association (1999, 2001, 2012, 2015), the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland (2008, 2010), and the Institute of Music and Dance (2012-2015).

She writes solo, chamber, symphonic, electronic, and multimedia works. Her composition have been presented at many concerts and festivals in Poland, including Warsaw Autumn, Musica Polonica Nova, Poznań Music Spring, Jeunesses Musicales in Kielce, “Conversatorium” Festival of Organ Music in Legnica, “Laboratory of Contemporary Music in Białystok”, Forum of Young Composers in Krakow, Witold Lutosławski Forum in Warsaw, International Percussion Workshops in Bydgoszcz, International Percussion Forum in Żagań, Warsaw Music Encounters, concerts of the “Portraits of Composers” series organised by the Polish Composers' Union, as well as abroad, among others in France, Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine,  Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Latin America, USA, and China. Her works have been also released on CDs by Acte Préalable, DUX, Polonia Records, Audite, Mons, Sarton, SWR2 Deutschlandfunk, Chopin University Press, and published in print by the PWM Edition and Norsk Musikforlag in Oslo.

Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska is also an educator. In 1995-2009 she taught improvisation and introduction to composition at the Karol Szymanowski School of Music in Warsaw. Currently  she teaches instrumentation, introduction to composition, and sight reading at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (at the Department of Choir Conducting, Music Education, Church Music, Rhythmics and Dance and at Postgraduate Studies in Composition). In 2012-2016, she was a supervisor of Academic and Artistic Student Circle of the Department of Composition, Conducting and Theory of Music. In 2016, she was elected Vice-Dean of the Department of Choir Conducting, Music Education, Church Music, Rhythmics and Dance (term of office 2016–2020).

She publishes articles in the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music's academic journal “Zeszyty Naukowe”. In the past she also collaborated with music magazines “Ruch Muzyczny”, “Życie Muzyczne”, “Studio”, and “Opcje”.

Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska is a member of the Polish Composers' Union (Secretary of the Warsaw Branch since 2009, General Board Member since 2017), Board Member of the "Music Encounters" Foundation, member of the ZAIKS Authors' Association, Polish Society for Electroacoustic Music (PSeME), and Eurythmics' Teachers and Lovers Association.

In 2020 she received the Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture Gloria Artis.
