Meeting: Lutosławski in Notes

Warsaw Autumn Fringe Event

September 23rd, 2015, Wednesday, 6 p.m.
Austrian Cultural Forum, Warsaw, 7/9 Próżna Street

Guests:
Prof. Zbigniew Skowron, University of Warsaw, Institute of Musicology, author of the collection Notes—Witold Lutosławski
Marcin Bogusławski, architect, Witold Lutosławski’s stepson

Chairman:
Jerzy Kisielewski

What was Witold Lutosławski like?
What were his everyday priorities?
How did he plan his schedule?
Where did he get inspiration from?
Should his music be approached by performers purely intellectually, or does it call for intense expression?

During the meeting, we will attempt to answer these and other questions. The event continues the idea of the EXPLORATION (POSZUKIWANIE) project, carried out in 2013 on the occasion of the composer’s centenary. The discussion will be illustrated with fragments from films and animations telling the story of Witold Lutosławski’s life and work.
