Polish Artists` Society was created in 2007 in the Judaica Foundation Center for Jewish Culture in Kazimierz - a historical district of Krakow. Among the founders, we can enumerate young creators, artists, composers, musicians, writers, poets and cultural animators. Our Society is not an artistic group and it does not have a precise program.
Mainly, our aim is to promote the creativeness of young generation of polish composers, writers, musicians and a variety of other artists by facilitating their artistic activity and by organizing cultural events on the local as well as international scale e.g. International Young Composers' Festival “New Music New Faces” in Krakow.
The year 2008 is the anniversary of death of Walenty Dec (1851-1938) – Polish composer and organist in Wawel cathedral. That is why, our Society has established the price of his name. This prize was inspired by the family of composer and it will be awarded by a special committee to persons engaged in improving the level of musical culture and presenting the Polish sacral music in churches.
