composer, music producer, sound designer; b. 1972 in Łódź. He is a sound producer and artistic director at Sky Media Polska, producing audio material for many Polish films, commercials, radio and television programmes. In these capacities, he has collaborated with top Polish stars, as well as television and radio stations. He has specialised in mixing surround sound in the Dolby Surround system.

Piotr Bańka composes and records music for films, theatre plays and radio dramas (e.g. Mechanism and children’s broadcasts such as the series of selected fairy tales Chwila dla malucha). He also composes songs, which have been performed by, among others, Olga Bończyk, Krzysztof Cugowski and Marek Torzewski. He has produced music for films (e.g. Wiedźmin – The Witcher, Integration Trip, Dancing 4 U, My Poland – Ryszard Kaczorowski’s Last Story) and TV series (M jak Miłość [L for Love], Samo życie). Author of signature tunes for radio stations (e.g. Polish Radio, PR Channel 3, Radio Freee, Polish Radio Chicago) and TV broadcasters (TVP 2), as well as music for commercials, music-and-sound illustrations for Zamość Museum, Lublin Underground Tourist Route, and music for a film promoting the "Piwnica pod Fortuną" restaurant in Lublin (Time Machine).

His litany Ecstasy to a Saint on a Procession Float was commissioned by the Henryk Wieniawski Philharmonic in Lublin in 2015 as part of the "Collections - Composing Commissions" programme implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance.

The composer wrote down his profound practical and theoretical knowledge of recording engineering and production in his original Polish-language monograph Podstawy techniki studyjnej [Basics of Studio Technique] (2013).

He plays bass guitar in the rock band Tipsy Train.
