conductor, composer; b. 17th January 1983 in Gdynia. He graduated with distinctions in both music theory (2008) and composition (from Andrzej Dziadek’s composition class – 2011) from the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk. In 2013 he also obtained a diploma in orchestral and stage conducting after studies with Wojciech Rajski. He was granted an Erasmus scholarship to study for a year at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz, Austria (composition with Gerd Kühr and conducting with Martin Sieghart, 2008-09). He also held scholarships from the City of Gdynia (twice).
He began conducting still as a student, presenting his own works in concert, also during festivals in Gdańsk, Poznań and Katowice, as well as abroad – in Austria and Italy. His compositions are part of the orchestral repertoires of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk and the Polish Chamber Philharmonic in Sopot.
Since 2013 Tadeusz Dixa has conducted the Sinfonietta Pomerania, consisting of leading contemporary music specialists from the Tricity.
He is also a lecturer in instrumentation at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, Deptartament of Conducting, Composition and Music Theory.
