pianist, composer; b. December 11, 2003, Warsaw. He comes from a family with multi-generational musical traditions. In 2022, he graduated with distinction from the Zenon Brzewski Secondary Music School in Warsaw in the piano class of Wilia Ochocka-Janusz. In 2025, he completed his Bachelor's degree at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in the piano class of Konrad Skolarski (PhD) and the composition class of Tomasz Opałka (PhD). In the 2025/26 academic year, he pursued his master's studies in the piano class of Prof. Piotr Paleczny and the composition class of Tomasz Opałka, specializing in "composition for film and theatre". Since 2023, he has also studied chamber music under Prof. Robert Morawski, and since the age of 12, he has been developing his skills as a piano improviser under the guidance of Tomasz Januchta.

He has participated in masterclasses led by Arie Vardi, Alexander Gavrylyuk, Lukas Geniušas, Vanessa Latarche, Sofya Gulyak, Roman Zaslavsky, Vincenzo Balzani, Momo Kodama, Roland Krüger, Steven Spooner, Andrzej Jasiński, Wojciech Świtała, Wojciech Kocyan, Zbigniew Raubo, Paweł Zawadzki, Sergei Tarasov, Olga Łazarska, Andrzej Tatarski, Karol Radziwonowicz, and Maria Szwajgier-Kułakowska. He performed and actively participated in masterclasses within the 77th International Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój.

He was a scholar of the National Children's Fund and the ZAiKS Creative Support Fund, and received the "Young Poland" (Młoda Polska) scholarship as well as the Scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for outstanding artistic achievements (three times).

He is a laureate of national and international competitions in the fields of piano performance, chamber music, composition, and improvisation.

He has performed at the Warsaw Philharmonic, Zielona Góra Philharmonic, Gorzów Philharmonic, Łomża Chamber Philharmonic, the concert halls of the Academies of Music in Bydgoszcz, Katowice, Kraków, and Poznań, the Concert Hall of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio, the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw, the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice, the Royal Łazienki Park, Karol Szymanowski’s "Atma" Villa in Zakopane, the Birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin in Żelazowa Wola, the Chopin Centre in Szafarnia, and the Łańcut Palace. He has taken part in piano festivals such as "Chopin en Vacances", "Chopin lokalnie", and "Young Interpretations of Chopin" in Konin-Żychlin.

He also performs internationally, having given concerts in Germany, Belgium, Italy, Austria, China, South Korea, Turkey, Latvia, Hungary, and Lithuania.

His compositions and arrangements have received world premieres during concerts organized at the Dramatic Theatre in Warsaw, the Lublin Philharmonic, the "Nowa Miodowa" Concert Hall in Warsaw, the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, as well as prestigious concert halls in Japan and South Korea. As part of the "2024 In Memory of Us" project accompanying the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, an artistic installation by Stéphane Simon comprising 12 symbolic sculptures was presented at the Maison de Victor Hugo, accompanied by compositions and arrangements by Józef Domżał. As part of the "Harmonies of Revival – Grzegorz Fitelberg" project, Józef Domżał reconstructed Fitelberg’s Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 13 (only the complete manuscripts of the first two movements and the first 69 measures of the finale have survived to this day); furthermore, based on surviving manuscripts of the woodwind and string parts preserved at the Warsaw University Library, he reconstructed the score of Fitelberg’s Symphony No. 2 in A major, Op. 20. The premiere of the reconstructed Concerto took place in 2025 at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where Symphony No. 2 was also presented.

As a pianist, composer, and arranger, Józef Domżał has collaborated with numerous symphonic and chamber ensembles. He has performed with the Zielona Góra Philharmonic Orchestra, the Łomża Chamber Philharmonic, Sinfonia Gedania, the Chopin University Chamber Orchestra, the Dubrovnik Chamber Orchestra, the Zenon Brzewski Warsaw String Orchestra, Ensemble Médieuses, the Juwenalia Artystyczne Choir and Orchestra, the Warsaw Student Orchestra, as well as the chamber formations Ensemble Sonore and Camerata Daegu. He has co-created artistic projects with renowned conductors such as Zygmunt Rychert, Przemysław Fiugajski, and Monika Wolińska. His list of musical partners also includes esteemed soloists: Krzysztof Wierciński, Wojciech Niedziółka, and Mateusz Dubiel.

An album featuring his original re-orchestrations of Fryderyk Chopin’s piano concertos, performed by Radosław Sobczak and the Podlasie Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Kazimierz Dąbrowski, was released by the DUX record label (2023). Under the Acte Préalable label, the album Harmonies of Revival – Grzegorz Fitelberg was released—produced as part of the ministerial "Music Trace" program in cooperation with the Academy of Music in Gdańsk—featuring his creative reconstructions of the composer's symphonic works (2025).

In 2024, Józef Domżał was granted artistic patronage by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.
