accordionist; b. 24th November 1988 in Białystok. In 2012 he graduated with distinction from the accordion class of Klaudiusz Baran at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He was also a Socrates-Erasmus student at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Barcelona) in the class of Iñaki Alberdi and postgraduate diploma student at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold (Germany) in the class of Grzegorz Stopa. He participated in masterclasses held in Ottweiler (Germany), Salzburg, and Vienna, where he worked under the supervision of such professors as Włodzimierz Lech Puchnowski, Yuri Shishkin, Teodoro Anzellotti, Geir Draugsvoll, Claudio Jacomucci, and Stefan Hussong.

He is a laureate of prestigious international accordion competitions in Poland and abroad – he received 2nd prize at the 42nd International Accordion Competition in Klingenthal, Germany (in a duo with Magdalena Bojanowicz, 2008); Grand Prix at the 8th Competition of 20th- and 21st-century Music for Young Performers in Radziejowice (2009); 1st award and two extra-curricular awards at the 3rd Michał Spisak International Music Competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza (2009); 1st prize at the 13th "Carlo Civardi" International Accordion Competition in Val Tidone, Italy (2010); special award at the 14th International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in Cracow (in a duo with Magdalena Bojanowicz, 2010); 1st prize at the 3rd Andrzej Krzanowski International Accordion Competition in Czechowice-Dziedzice (2010), 1st prize at the 20th "Arrasate Hiria" International Accordion Competition in Spain (2012) and 1st prize at the GWK Competition in Münster (2015). In 2010 he represented Polish Radio at the "New Talent" International Forum of Young Performers organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

The artist’s cooperation with such composers as Krzysztof Penderecki, Paweł Szymański, Dariusz Przybylski, Cezary Duchnowski, Wojciech Ziemowit Zych, Wojciech Blecharz, and Jagoda Szmytka is an important part of his career. He premiered over 60 pieces. In June 2012 he was the first solo accordionist in the history to have appeared on stage with the Polish National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. He also performed with other symphony orchestras (including the Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra) under the baton of Łukasz Borowicz, José Maria Florêncio, Michał Klauza, Marek Moś, Renato Rivolta, Ruben Silva, Lukas Vis and Young Chill Lee. He was invited to perform at several festivals in Poland and abroad, including the International Festival of Contemporary Music "Warsaw Autumn", Polish Music Festival in Cracow, Musica Polonica Nova in Wrocław, Musica Moderna in Łódź, "La Folle Journée", "Neue Horizonten" in Hannover, "Two Days and Two Nights" in Odessa, Latvian New Music Days in Riga, and "Musique au Léman" in Thonon-les-Bains in France.

Maciej Frąckiewicz received the “Polityka” magazine "Passport" award (2013) and a number of scholarships, including the Minister of Culture’s prestigious "Young Poland" scholarship for his CD recording of Polish contemporary music (in a duo with Magdalena Bojanowicz). This Sarton label release was nominated to the "Fryderyk" award in two categories. In 2014 DUX record label released the artist’s debut album which includes compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Sofia Gubaidulina, César Franck, Andrzej Tuchowski and a premiere recording of Krzysztof Penderecki's Sinfonietta.
