Polish-Belarusian composer, accordionist and teacher; b. 23rd November 1983 in Minsk, Belarus. He studied conducting with Włodzimierz Czernikow and accordion with Nikolai Bujanov at the Mikhail Glinka Minsk State Music College (1999-2003). Then he studied composition with Dmitry Smolski at the Belarusian State Academy of Music in Minsk (BA, 2006-2009) and with Marek Jasiński and Marian Borkowski at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (MA, 2009-2011). He received his PhD under the supervision of Marian Borkowski from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (PhD, 2011-2014).

He has received numerous scholarships, including the National Scholarship of the Government of the Republic of Poland granted by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2010, 2011), Rector's Scholarship for the best PhD students of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (2011/2012), Creative Scholarship from the Fund for the Support of Creativity of the ZAiKS Authors' Association (2012, 2016), and Creative Scholarship of the Marshal's Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship (2019, 2020).

He has received a number of awards at composition competitions, including the first place at the National Composers' Competition devoted to the 115th anniversary of M. Bogdanowicz's birth (Minsk, 2006), a diploma at the 9th J. Siemieniako International Competition for Composers (Brest, 2007), an honourable mention at the Tadeusz Ochlewski Composers' Competition (Krakow, 2010), and an honourable mention at the "Don Bosco" National Competition for Composers (Rumia, 2016). In 2012 his cantata Mysterium Fidei was nominated by the president of the Union of Belarusian Composers, prof. Igor Łuczenka for the cash prize of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus. In 2012 he won the National Competition for the bugle call of the city of Bobolice.

Igor Jankowski describes his musical language as neotonic. His works have been performed in various cities of Eastern and Western Europe (over 150 performances). In 2011 his first album A New Size Of Old Traditions was released by VIGMA record company from Belarus. In 2018 SOLITON label from Sopot released his 11-song album QVO VADIS. His next albums are Choral Works with 12 original compositions for mixed choir a cappella (2019) and The Best Songs with 16 vocal-instrumental works in Polish, Italian and English (2021).

Since 2012 he has been a member of the Polish Composers' Union. In 2013 he founded the Belarusian Culture Festival in Pomerania of which he is artistic director. Since 2016 he is the president of the MSM UNICUM Foundation for Artistic Development and International Cooperation.
