In 2013 she received a habilitation degree in composition and theory of music at the Academy of Music in Łódź. Currently, she works at the Academy of Music in Poznań as an adjunct.

She composes mostly chamber music, both vocal and instrumental. She draws inspiration from literary texts, particularly in her works for solo voice, and natural phenomena and processes, including the elements. The artist frequently employs extended performance techniques, with a strong emphasis put on the colour of the sound, which becomes the key component of her compositions. Her work Ex imo Mari for chamber orchestra was commissioned by the Polish Composers' Union as part of the "Composer's Commissions" programme run by the Institute of Music and Dance.

Monika Kędziora received a number of awards for her artistic and organizational activities. Board of the Hipolit Cegielski Society awarded her with the Young Positivist Medal "in recognition of her passion in organic work" (2004). The President of the Republic of Poland awarded her with the Bronze Medal for long service (2010). She also received the Honorary Badge "Distinguished for Polish Culture".
