composer; b. 14th October 1988 in Gdynia. In 2009–2014 he studied with Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. He graduated with distinction from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where he studied with Yannis Kyriakides and Peter Adriaansz in 2013-2015.
He has participated in many workshops and composition courses conducted by such composers as Pierluigi Billone, Christian Wolff, Carola Bauckholt, Jennifer Walshe, Bernhard Lang, Carola Bauckholt, and Dmitri Kourliandski. In 2014 he was granted the Witold Lutosławski Scholarship. In 2016 he was awarded with the Kranichsteiner Stipendienpreis on the 48th Darmstadt International Summer Course for New Music.
He was awarded in competitions such as Generace (2012), the Young Composers Meeting (2013), "The Science of Fiction" composition competition, co-organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and Klangforum Wien (2020). In 2015 he received a recommendation at the 62nd International Rostrum of Composers. In 2019 his piece Deep Relaxation vol. 4: Self-Care was chosen for a performance on the ISCM World New Music Days in Auckland. In 2021 ha was awarded with Kompositionspreis der Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart.
Laskowski composes instrumental and electronic music, focusing on extended performance techniques and the use of analogue sound sources and lo-fi aesthetics in electronic music. He is interested in blurring borders between the performer and the listener, distance and intimacy, kitsch and sophitsication, irony and seriousness. He combines various inspirations, such as science fiction, New Age, ASMR and plunderphonics creating concert music, participatory performances, and online pieces.
He has been working with such ensembles as Asko|Schönberg, Electronic ID, Ensemble Adapter, Ensemble Garage, Ensemble Nikel, Ives Ensemble, Kwadrofonik, Kwartludium, LUX:NM, New European Ensemble, musikfabrik, Royal String Quartet, Shallfeld Ensemble, Slaagwerk Den Haag, Spółdzielnia Muzyczna Contemporary Ensemble, orkest de ereprijs, Ostravska Banda, The Black Page Orchestra, TWOgether Duo, Wet Ink Ensemble and others.
His works have been performed in many countries at such festivals as e.g. Darmstadt International Summer Course for New Music, Festival Presences, Gaudeamus Muziekweek, Klang Festival, Musica Polonica Nova, Musica Electronica Nova, Warsaw Autumn, Gdańsk Music Festival, Nordic Music Days, Ostrava Days, Tampere Biennale, Ultima, Unsafe+Sounds Festival, Young Composers Meeting.
