singer (countertenor); born January 23, 1988, in Płock. He is a graduate of Professor Artur Stefanowicz’s vocal class at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.

While still a student, he made his debut at the Castle Opera in Szczecin as Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss II, and at the Collegium Nobilium Theatre in Warsaw as Nero in Claudio Monteverdi’s opera L'incoronazione di Poppea.

The artist’s repertoire includes such roles as: the Sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, the Angel in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, Nero in Agrippina, Sextus in Giulio Cesare, and the title role in Handel’s Rinaldo, Cherubino in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, the title role in Sławomir Kupczak’s Voyager, Stephano in Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet, Andy in Neuwirth’s Lost Highway, and Jesus in Kupczak's The Unfinished Miracle (Cud Niedokonany).

He has participated in a number of opera premieres, including: Rafał Janiak’s The Man from the Manufactory (Człowiek z Manufaktury) at the Grand Theatre in Łódź (The Horse / The Sailor), Karol Nepelski’s Birdy (Ptasiek) at the Tête à Tête Opera Festival in London (title role), Porpora’s Il Filandro at the Bydgoszcz Baroque Scene Festival (Urania), Kaija Saariaho’s Only the Sound Remains at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan (Spirit)—a production also presented at the 2021 Venice Biennale—Wojciech Błażejczyk’s Bunker. Fake Opera (Voice), Krzysztof Penderecki’s Paradise Lost (Raphael / Death), and Michał Dobrzyński’s HiStory (Witold Gombrowicz).

Michał Sławecki is renowned for his interpretations of contemporary works; he collaborates with prominent Polish composers such as Paweł Mykietyn, Bartosz Chajdecki, Maciej Zieliński, and Andrzej Zarycki.

He has performed on the stages of the Warsaw National Philharmonic, the philharmonics in Szczecin, Gdańsk, and Bydgoszcz, the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, the NOSPR Concert Hall in Katowice, the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio in Warsaw, the Dresdner Philharmonie, and the Münchner Philharmoniker. His operatic appearances include the Silesian Opera in Bytom, the Polish Theatre in Warsaw, the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw, Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, the Castle Opera in Szczecin, the Polish Royal Opera in Warsaw, the Grand Theatre in Łódź, and the Manoel Theatre in Malta.

He has toured extensively, performing in Belgium, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, France, Germany, Greece, Austria, China, Serbia, Kazakhstan, and South Africa.

He has appeared at such festivals as the Saaremaa Opera Festival in Estonia, the International Contemporary Music Festival "Contrasts" in Lviv, the National Arts Festival in South Africa, the "Nostalgia" Festival in Poznań, La Biennale di Venezia, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Festival Musica Strasbourg, Festival delle Arti Unite in Rome, Post Fine Arts in Freiburg, and the International Festival of Contemporary Music "Warsaw Autumn".

Michał Sławecki has participated in radio, television, and studio recordings, including the drama-opera Oresteia by Agata Zubel (Anaklasis, 2023).
