pianist, conductor and composer; b. 22nd February 1974 in Szczecin. He started learning piano at the age of 7 and graduated from the Felix Nowowiejski Complex of Music Schools in Szczecin. In the years 1993-1998 he studied composition at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk. He continued his piano education under Lidia Grychtołówna and undertook a choral and orchestral conducting course under Joshard Daud at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. There he attended rhythm, ensemble playing, and jazz arrangement and composition classes led by such musicians as double bassist Vitold Reka and percussionist Janusz Stefański. He also took part in conducting masterclasses of Sylvain Camberling, Pierre Boulez, Felix Hauswirth and Steven Verhaert.

Trzciński is a versatile artist with lots of musical interests. He devotes his time to composition, arrangement, improvisation and video collage. He conducts orchestras and choir ensembles, performs classical and jazz music, teaches music theory, composition and piano. For several years he was a member of the EuropaChorAkademie, with whom he performed and recorded many significant classic and modern oratorios. The ensemble also premiered Requiem for a Young Poet by Bernd Alois Zimmermann at the Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Trzciński performs as recitalist, concert soloist and chamber accompanist. His interests are centered around the art of improvisation. His project "Around The Köln Concert", presenting his own interpretation of the famous concert improvisation of jazz pianist Keith Jarrett from 1975, brought him publicity and recognition. The project under supervision of Manfred Reichert consisted of a combination of Jarret’s The Köln Concert with polyphonic music of Johann Sebastian Bach and Dmitri Shostakovich. It was premiered in Poland in 2005 at the Culture House 13muz in Szczecin. In his improvisations Trzciński combines Polish traditional music, especially from the Podhale region, with contemporary jazz and classical piano techniques. Since 2005 he collaborates with Radio Darmstadt. In 2006 his first two-disc album entitled Blue Mountains was released by the Silk Note label. It features recordings of the concert performances of The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett and a series of his own concert piano improvisations.

In the years 2003-2008 he toured with saxophonist Stefan Reisser as “Duo R-T”. He was a conductor and artistic director of the Orchestra-Big Band in Sprendlingen (Rheinland-Pfalz) and brass band Kilian Ensemble in Mainz. In Poland Trzciński gained popularity by a series of improvisation concerts entitled “Dialogs with piano". He premiered and recorded Nocturne No. 1 and No. 2 by Konstancja Kochaniec and works by Paweł Kochaniec. In 2014 he played solo improvisation concert entitled What played in His Soul at the Szczecin Cathedral on the occasion of the canonization of the Polish Pope – John Paul II. Since 2014 he hosts his "Piano Explorations Live!" YouTube programme.

In the years 2013-2015 he recorded and published on the internet over 150 compositions and solo concert improvisations in the cycle entitled "Piano Explorations". He also composes and arranges music for Schott Music International. He is the author of popular piano transcriptions, such as African Songs, recorded by the famous jazz pianist Abdullah Ibrahim (Dollar Brand).

In the years 2013-2015 he received many prominent awards and won the first place thrice on the London music portal BEAT100 for music, interpretation and video-presentations of his compositions .

The musician has been living and working abroad for many years, composing in his own music studio near Mainz, Germany, and running his own music and media production company Musikproduktion Tomasz Trzciński – Qualityinmusic since 2006.
