cellist, chamber musician and educator; b. 13th September 1981 in Warsaw. In 2005 she graduated with honours from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, having studied with Prof. Andrzej Wróbel. In 2012 she received her PhD degree. She is also a graduate of the Institute of Musicology (Univeristy of Warsaw, 2011). She worked on her playing skills under the guidance of Prof. Andrzej Orkisz, Piotr Janowski and Ivan Monighetti. In 2007 she participated in courses in Caracas organized by Venezuelan cellist William Molina. Having completed the classes, she was accepted as a member of the Latin American Cello Academy.
As a solist, she played with Camerata Vistula, Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra "Amadeus" conducted by Agnieszka Duczmal, Warsaw Chamber Opera Orchestra, Świętokrzyska Philharmonic Orchestra and Polish Radio Orchestra led by Łukasz Borowicz. She gave concerts in many cities of Poland, Eastern and Central Europe, as well as in Venezuela, where in 2010 she performed Moliendo Cafe – composition by Piotr Wróbel based on Venezuelan folk melodies. The concert was honoured with the presence of Jose Antonio Abreu, the creator of Venezuelan musical education system called ”El Sistema”.
Anna Wróbel premiered several compositions by Zbigniew Bagiński, Jerzy Derfl, Krzysztof Herdzin, Benedykt Kowalski, Jerzy Maksymiuk and Piotr Wróbel. Together with Camera Vistula she performed Antoni Stolpe’s Dramatic Scene (for cello and string quintet) for the first time since 1868 and recorded the work for "Pro Musica Camerata". She also gave the the first contemporary performance of Fantasy for cello and symphony orchestra by A. Stolpe, Serenade by Marcel Popławski, as well as Suite for cello and string quitet by Witold Maliszewski.
Since October 2014 she has been working as a lecturer at the Białystok branch of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.
