Music and art lovers are cordially invited to the “Rzeszow Classical Night” concert, which will be held on September 8th 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the concert hall of the Institute of Music at the University of Rzeszow. The event, organized by the Rzeszow Music Association, aims to promote performers and composers associated with the Rzeszow region and showcase their wide-ranging creative work.
This year’s second edition of the “Rzeszow Classical Night” concert promises to be especially attractive due to both the repertoire and the performers.
The audience gathered in the concert hall will have the opportunity to hear premieres of works by Dominik Lasota—a Rzeszow-based composer, Doctor of Musical Arts, and university lecturer. In the first part of the event, the “Rzeszow Classical Night” string orchestra, conducted by internationally renowned maestro Prof. Slawek Adam Wroblewski, will premiere a three-movement Accordion Concerto, specially dedicated to Weronika Sura — a young accordion virtuoso, founder of the Rzeszow Academy of Music, and PhD student at the University of Rzeszow.
The second part of the concert will feature chamber music and a series of works inspired by the spatial painting of Wojciech Fangor, called “Circles,” for accordion, flute, piano, violin, and guitar. Among the performers, you will hear and see artists who serve as educators and musicians at the Podkarpackie Philharmonic, including Aleksandra Jarosińska, Jagoda Pietrusiak-Kasprzyk, Marcin Kasprzyk, and Mateusz Kowalski.
Weronika Sura, the initiator of the concert series, is responsible for the event’s entire artistic direction.
