"Musica æterna" - the title of the symphonic concert taking place as part of the 32nd String Festival at the Zielona Góra Philharmonic - will be filled not only with violin music, but also symphonic music. The latter will be special, because on the 20th of October, 2023 at 7 p.m., the Piano Concerto by Andrei Yakushau, who until recently served as assistant conductor at the Philharmonic, will be performed for the first time.
In 2021, Andrei Yakushau started studies at the Doctoral School of Composition, Music Theory, Rhythmics and Music Education at the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, where he studies in the composition class of Artur Kroschel. He is a member of the board of the Young Circle of the Polish Composers' Union.
The composition presented on the Zielona Góra stage is the work that is the subject of Yakushau's doctoral thesis, who will conduct the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra that evening. Igor Torbicki will play the piano - one of the most interesting Polish pianists of his generation.
