The album “Krzysztof Meyer – Choral Works” (DUX) is the tenth volume in the “Anthology of Polish A Cappella Music”, a unique series by the Collegium Cantorum Choir of the Częstochowa Philharmonic, conducted by Janusz Siadlak. The program includes four world premiere recordings.

The album opens with the cycle Nehmt hin die Welt! Op. 120, set to the words of Friedrich Schiller, which Krzysztof Meyer composed between 2013 and 2024. Three of the four choral miniatures have now been recorded for the first time. The album concludes with the solemn Te Deum Op. 84, a work that was repeatedly revised by the composer and finally completed in 2024, and also recorded for the first time.

The album also includes contrasting compositions from the 1980s: Wieliczalnaja Op. 71, based on texts from the Orthodox liturgy and the Gospel of St. Luke, and Staunen Op. 91, the fourth part of the oratorio The Creation of the World, with lyrics by Pastor Gerhard Engelsberger.

A crucial part of the creation of this project was the close collaboration with Krzysztof Meyer himself, winner of the 2024 Gold Fryderyk, who participated in rehearsals and recordings, ensuring the faithful realization of his compositional intentions. This gives the album not only high artistic value but also historical significance—preserving a fully authorized interpretation of the works of one of Poland's greatest contemporary composers.

The exceptional series “Anthology of Polish A Cappella Music”, launched in 2017, showcases the most valuable works of Polish choral music. The project was initiated by Janusz Siadlak, who was awarded the Silver Medal "Merit for Culture - Gloria Artis”.

The album was released by DUX Recording Producers in co-production with the Institute for the Development of the Arts, and funded by the Marshal's Office of the Silesian Voivodeship and the City of Częstochowa.
