The album Souvenir de Posen, recorded by the Meccore String Quartet, was released in 2024 by the Prelude Classics label (PLC 2400800). It includes the Variations and Fugue in F Major by Ignacy Jan Paderewski for string quartet (a world premiere recording) as well as the rarely performed String Quartet in A minor, Op. 32 by Józef Wieniawski.

The project was initiated to mark the centenary in 2024 of Paderewski being awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Poznań.

A unique feature of the recording is the sound of the 1846 violin by Ch. F. Gand (one of the instruments of Henryk Wieniawski), played by the quartet's first violinist, Dr. Wojciech Koprowski. Thanks to the generosity of the Museum of Musical Instruments in Poznań, a project partner, this historical luthier’s masterpiece enables us to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere and colors of the era.
