Monika Kędziora's "Piano Works"

Monika Kędziora’s Piano Works is a collection of 12 compositions written between 2020 and 2025, created specifically with the performers to whom they were dedicated. The cycle was published by the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań Press.

The prelude-like pieces were inspired by nature and cosmos in a broader sense, a connection made explicit in their titles. Among the extraterrestrial themes is the final work of the cycle, Via Lactea (The Milky Way), composed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Polish Composers' Union. It was premiered during the anniversary festival at a concert organized by the Poznań branch of the Polish Composers' Union.

The compositions were dedicated to the following artists: Nubes labuntur to Maria Koszewska-Wajdzik, Caligo to Gabriela Szendzielorz-Jungiewicz, Iaspis and Amethistus to Maria Rutkowska, El lagarto gigante and Agaraw to Jaime Peñate Conde, and Perygeum and Via lactea to Tomasz Sośniak. These musicians also served as the editors of the pieces.
