Łódź | 83rd Musica Moderna Festival

A rich programme of chamber, electronic and audiovisual concerts will create excellent conditions for encounters with the latest music by composers of the young generation connected with Łódź, as well as with the event's special guest. The organisers of the spring edition of the 83rd Musica Moderna Festival from the 16th of April to the 14th of May 2024 are the Composition Department of the Academy of Music in Łódź and the Polish Composers' Union.

The SoundCheck- New Music Ensemble of the Łódź Academy under the direction of Maciej Koczur will present new works by Rafał Augustyn, Wojciech Glądys, Andrzej Kwieciński, Jacek Sotomski and Marta Śniady during the inaugural concert.

Warsaw | 1. Timeless Film Festival Warsaw: XYLOS

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the film, during the Timeless Film Festival Warsaw you will be able to see "The Porter from the Atlantic Hotel" (1924) directed by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau with music specially composed for this occasion.

On the 14th of April 14, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the POLIN Museum, the XYLOS ensemble consisting of excellent musicians: Piotr Domagała (acoustic and electric guitar), Darius Klišys (birbyn, electronics) and Marek Toporowski (harpsichord), will perform.

Warsaw | Sinfonia Iuventus: 55th anniversary of artistic work of Jerzy Salwarowski

Koncert z okazji 55-lecia pracy artystycznej Jerzego SalwarowskiegoMedia patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC

The Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra invites you to another concert at the Auditorium of the Polish History Museum on the 13th of April, 2024 at 6 p.m. This time the orchestra will be led by Jerzy Salwarowski, a conductor and teacher who is celebrating his 55th anniversary of artistic work this year. Hubert Salwarowski, particularly appreciated as a performer of the "great", canonical repertoire of solo works and concertos of the 19th and 20th centuries, will perform as a soloist.

The Orchestra conducted by him will perform the 5th Piano Concerto in E flat major, the so-called "Imperial" by Ludwig van Beethoven and the only Symphony by the neo-romanticist, composer and famous organist César Franck.

Hashtag Lab invites artists to co-create a series of improvised music concerts "f.i.m.m." On the 13th of April, 2024 at 8 p.m., Rafał Mazur (bass guitar) and Dominik Strycharski (flutes) will present their improvisations as part of the series.

TimelessFestival 14 4 24The phenomenal Wrocław group Małe Instrumenty will perform twice during the 1st Timeless Film Festival Warsaw at the POLIN Museum!

The ensemble will perform on small instruments from their unique collection, music to Friedrich W. Murnau's film "Faust" (April 13, 2024 at 4 p.m.) and create the musical setting for a set of three medium-length gems by the master of film comedy Buster Keaton (April 14 at 12 p.m.).

Katowice | AUKSO & Motion Trio: film music of Jan A.P. Kaczmarek

Techno, electro, ethno, film music - the Motion Trio can do it all! On the 13th of April 2024 at 7.30 p.m. at the Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra premises it will join forces with the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy to present the works of Jan A.P. Kaczmarek under the direction of Marek Moś.

We will hear film music by perhaps the most successful Polish film composer, winner of an Oscar and a British Academy Award, author of soundtracks to more than 70 feature films and documentaries, including the Dreamer.

Łódź | 5th Piano Forum for Young Teachers

OPERATIVA Association for the Promotion of Artistic Initiatives and the Academy of Music in Łódź would like to invite you to the 5th edition of the Piano Forum for Young Teachers. Bacewicz on 12-13 April 2024.

During the two-day event, young lecturers from Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków, Łódź, Poznań, Warsaw and Wrocław will share their knowledge of piano literature and piano playing during lectures and open lessons. Each day of the Forum will be crowned by a concert with participation of the lecturers. They will perform works by, among others, Fryderyk Chopin, Claude Debussy, Ignacy Jan Paderewski and Karol Szymanowski. Admission free!

Ceremony of awarding the title of doctor honoris causa of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz to Prof. Irena Poniatowska

Irena PoniatowskaRector of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz invites you to the ceremony of awarding the title of doctor honoris causa to Prof. Irena Poniatowska. The ceremony will take place on the 12th of April, 2024 in the Academy concert hall at 3 p.m.

Irena Poniatowska, honored with many distinctions and state awards, was associated with the Institute of Musicology of the University of Warsaw for almost 50 years. In the years 1998–2006, she chaired the International Musicological Congresses "Musica Antiqua Europae Orientalis" organized by the Pomeranian Philharmonic and supervised the scientific publications of "Acta Musicologica".

Zielona Góra | "Classics Without Borders" Festival 2024

The Zielona Góra Philharmonic festival "Classics Without Borders" will last until the 31st of May, 2024. The inauguration of this year's edition will take place on the 12th of April at 7 p.m.

Famous soloists - Ekaterina Chayka-Rubinstein (mezzo-soprano), Daniel Kotliński (bass-baritone) and Tymoteusz Bies (piano) - as well as the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will perform under the direction of Rafał Kłoczko, director of the institution. The culmination of the evening will be the performance of Piano Concerto by the Institution's Patron. The Hungarian Dances by Johannes Brahms and the songs Des Knaben Wunderhorn ("The Boy's Wonderful Horn") for voice and orchestra will take us to a completely different mood.

The Philharmonic does not provide information about the programme of the Festival in May.
