Krzysztof Penderecki International Festival – level 320 – in Zabrze

Międzynarodowy Festiwal im. Krzysztofa Pendereckiego - poziom 320 w Zabrzu


A historic event – the Polish premiere of the new Concerto for trumpet and orchestra by Krzysztof Penderecki in the series of world premieres – will take place at the upcoming third edition of the festival named in honor of the Maestro – the Krzysztof Penderecki International Festival – level 320 – in Zabrze. Concerto for trumpet and orchestra by the Festival's Patron will be performed during the final concert on the 25th of October at the House of Music and Dance in Zabrze. The piece was written specifically for a Hungarian trumpet virtuoso, a true international superstar – Gábor Boldoczki. That evening Sinfonietta Cracovia – one of the partners commissioning the piece, will accompany the soloist under the baton of Jurek Dybał.

7th International Festival of Music Producers and Sound Engineers Soundedit, Łódź

Soundedit 2015

The 7th International Festival of Music Producers and Sound Engineers Soundedit will take off at Klub Wytwórnia in Łódź on 22 October and will last for three days. During this year’s edition of the festival that celebrates good sound, five artists will be awarded the “Man with the Golden Ear” statuette. The promoters present a complete workshops timetable and invite the audience to take part in meetings with the artists held at Empik stores. Łódź also eagerly awaits a unique screening of “Metropolis”!

Thursday, October 22, will be devoted to a day-long training session for industry people. The session will start at Klub Wytwórnia at 11 a.m. and will be hosted by ESS Audio and conducted by Vincent “Vinnie” Perreux. The sound engineer working on tours with such giants as U2 and Muse will share his vast experience with the participants of the session.

At 5 p.m. on the same day, at Empik store located in Manufaktura shopping center there will be a meeting with Józef Skrzek, this year’s The Man with the Golden Ear award laureate. The festival’s award will also be presented to Sir Bob Geldof, Roger Glover, Wojciech Waglewski and Leszek Biolik.

On 16 October, the third-round auditions of the 17th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition were completed.

According to the Competition rules and regulations, the jury – led by Prof. Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń – admitted 10 participants to the final auditions, including: 2 from Canada, 2 from United States, and 1 from: Croatia, Japan, Latvia, Poland, Russia, and South Korea:

On October 8th, 2015, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage launched the 5th edition of its Collections programme – Composing Commissions 2016-2017 priority. The programme is implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance.
