A concert to commemorate the 85th birthday of Krzysztof Penderecki will be held on April 17, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – the European Art Center in Białystok.
Three oratorios of one of the greatest living Polish composer have the power to bring the heavens closer to the earth. Song of Cherubim, Missa brevis and O gloriosa virginum are written for mixed choir a cappella, what enhances their mystical, spiritual character. As framing device will serve Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor KV 427, one of the most renowned works of sacral music.The works will be performed by the Orchestra and Choir of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic under the direction of Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk. The soloists will be: Anna Wolfinger (soprano), Joanna Krasuska-Motulewicz (alt), Paweł Cichoński (tenor), Mateusz Stachura (bass), and Andrzej Klepacki (cantor).
