National Forum of Music will host a concert marking the 70th anniversary of the Grażyna Bacewicz Music School in Wrocław on January 9, 2017.
The value of the school in the city’s artistic development cannot be overestimated. It educated over 3000 students, many of whom received scholarships and awards at several competitions, as well as developed their careers as professional musicians (such as Marek Pijarowski, Agata Zubel, Michał Moc, Robert Bachara, Marcin Ostrowski and many others).
The programme includes works for choir and orchestra by Polish composers (Jerzy Zabłocki, Grażyna Bacewicz and Witold Lutosławski) and arrangements of famous popular music compositions, which will be presented by vocal and instrumental ensembles consisting of the present students of the music school.
