19th edition of the "Colours of Poland" Festival

The 19th Lodz Philharmonic Festival "Colours of Poland" will be held between July 1 – August 31, 2018. For all concerts of the Festival (except the final) admission is free.

The Festival of the Lodz Philharmonic "Colours of Poland" is a unique event of the summer season, covering the whole Lodz region. Twenty concerts will take place in a dozen or so most beautiful tourist areas of the Lodz Province: artists invited to co-create this project will visit towns such as Skierniewice, Rogów, Konstantynów Łódzki, Dobroń, Brzeźno, Warta, Wolbórz, Inowłódz, Wieruszów, Zelów, Pęczniew, Sieradz, Góra Świętej Małgorzaty, Lipce Reymontowskie, Krośniewice and Nieborów. The Festival programme is created on the basis of not only classical music, it also includes original projects, compositions inspired by folklore or early art, unconventional studies of classical and light music, as well as jazz arrangements.

The inauguration of the "Colours of Poland" will take place in Łowicz on July 1. During the two holiday months, the audience will be able to applaud the Lodz Philharmonic Choir, Polonica Band, Kuba Stankiewicz with the band, L. Stadt and the Choir of the Chorea Theater, and Krakow Street Band. In the Dobroński church, we will hear Octava Ensemble, who will present works by Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki, Mikołaj from Krakow, Mikołaj Zielenski and Łukasz Urbaniak. Tromb Quartet will perform music by Feliks Nowowiejski and Mateusz Święcicki in the church in Wieruszów. In the finale of the Festival, we will hear famous accordionist Marcin Wyrostek with the band Corazon. The artist will present works from his latest album Polacc.
