Polish Radio Programme 2 and Polish Radio Orchestra invite you on September 16, 2018 at 6.00 p.m. for the inauguration of the artistic season 2018/2019. The evening at the Witold Lutosławski Polish Radio Concert Studio will feature a concert version of the Hagith opera by Karol Szymanowski.
The opera to the libretto by Felix Dőrmann, loosely based on the events described in the biblical First Book of Kings, is dedicated to prince Władysław Lubomirski. The concert version will be performed by the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the National Philharmonic Choir under the direction of Michał Klauza. The soloists will be: Wioletta Chodowicz – Hagith, Ryszard Minkiewicz – Old King, Andrzej Lampert – Young King, Dariusz Machej – High Priest, and Stanisław Kuflyuk – Doctor.
The concert will take place under the patronage of the Polish Music Publishers as part of the TUTTI.pl project promoting performances of Polish music.
