Tarnowskie Góry | Concert cycle "Two streams"

CWMK

The Elżbieta Chojnacka Center for Contemporary Harpsichord Music invites you on 21 March 2019 at 6.00 p.m. to the Palace in Rybna for the event inaugurating the new concert series "Two Streams", dedicated to the outstanding Polish harpsichordists of the 20th and 21st century: Wanda Landowska (on the 140th birth anniversary and 60th death anniversary) and Elżbieta Chojnacka (on the 80th birth anniversary).

The concert cycle will present early and new harpsichord music performed by Elżbieta Stefańska, Władysław Kłosiewicz, Hanna Balcerzak, Ewa Rzetecka-Niewiadomska, Hubert Niewiadomski, Aleksandra Gajecka-Antosiewicz, and invited guests. The concerts will be hosted by Piotr Oczkowski.

The first of the six concerts, "A Tribute to Wanda Landowska", will be performed by the excellent harpsichordist Hanna Balcerzak (student of Leszek Kędracki – student of Ruggero Gerlin – student of Wanda Landowska). The event was included in the European celebrations of early music "The European Day of Early Music", falling on the birthday of J. S. Bach. The programme will feature Clavier-Übung II for two-manual harpsichord, coming from the Bach cycle presenting a review of the 18th century keyboard music. The concert will be accompanied by an exhibition entitled "Wanda Landowska."

The project is co-financed from the funds of the Tarnowskie Góry Commune and the Palace in Rybna.
