The cycle "Summer concerts at Grochowska Street" will be inaugurated on May 25 and 26, 2019 at 4.00 p.m. in the headquarters of the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra (272 Grochowska Street).
The afternoon chamber concerts will take place every weekend, featuring both renowned artists and rising stars of classical music. During the 30 thematically divided concerts – Not only orchestra, Japan, Moniuszko, Relax, On travel, Improvisation, Old Warsaw – we will have a chance to listen to ensembles of differnet types, such as a reed quintet with saxophone and bass clarinet, a cello octet or a flute quartet. The programme will include music of many styles and eras – from Baroque, through Romanticism, to jazz, contemporary and improvised music.
On May 25th, the "Not only orchestra" concert will feature Serenade in C minor KV 388 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Octet in E flat major Op. 103 by Ludwig van Beethoven performed by the Sinatonia Varsovia Wind Ocetet. The next day, we will listen to the Sinfonia Varsovia Academy String Orchestra under the baton of the excellent violinist Jakub Haufa. The musicians will present works by Edvard Grieg, Franz Schubert, Edward Elgar and Krzysztof Penderecki, the artistic director of the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra.
