Warsaw | Kamionek Festival

Kamionek

The first edition of the festival dedicated to the culture of Kamionek – once an industrial area, which today is full of artistic life, will be held on 8-15 June 2019 in Warsaw.

The festival will allow participants to get to know contemporary Kamionek, people working for local communities, interesting artists and non-governmental organizations. It will also bring a number of attractive cultural events from various fields of art: concerts of classical and contemporary music, performances, workshops, happenings, meetings, visits to art studios, interesting walks, a bicycle ride with architects, and an urban game. The festival events will take place both outdoors – on Kamionek's streets, squares, or in Skaryszewski Park, as well as in the most interesting buildings of the district, including Soho Factory, Church in Kamionek and Powszechny Theatre.

On 9 June in the Skaryszewski Park, the New Warsaw Trio will familiarize the audience with music from France, Argentina and Poland. On the same day in the Church in Kamionek, the concert "Ars Moriendi" will be performed by the Bastarda Trio and the Choir of Grochów under the direction of Maja Kłoskowska. The Atom String Quartet and soloists of the Leopoldinum Chamber Orchestra will perform on June 14 at the Soho Factory, presenting the selection of songs from the album "Supernova", awarded with Fryderyk 2019 in the category "Album of the Year – Contemporary Music". The authors of the compositions are musicians of the quartet: Dawid Lubowicz, Mateusz Smoczyński, Michał Zaborski and Krzyszof Lenczowski.
