Toruń | 23d International Festival "Nova Music and Architecture"

The 23rd edition of the "Nova Music and Architecture" Festival will take place between 28 June and 7 August 2019. Many historic and modern architectural spaces of Toruń will be filled with an extremely rich range of musical presentations.

At the invitation of the organizers, the Toruń Symphony Orchestra, performers from many countries and different continents will come to the festival. There will be special programmes for children and entire families as well as unique meetings with organ, vocal, chamber and symphonic music.

The festival will start with Marek Napiórkowski's and Artur Lesicki's concert with the Toruń Symphony Orchestra, during which the musicians will present the most beautiful melodies of Polish film music released on the Celuloid album, nominated for the "Fyderyk" award. We will listen to works by Andrzej Kurylewicz, Tomasz Stańko, Marek Napiórkowski, Jerzy "Duduś" Matuszkiewicz, Krzysztof Komeda, Artur Lesicki, Andrzej Korzyński and Wojciech Kilar.

On 13 July at the Artus Court, the Ãtma Quartet string quartet will present a programme composed entirely of works by Polish composers: The String Quartet No. 3 "Paper-cuts" by Andrzej Panufnik, String Quartet "Pages of an Unwritten Diary" No. 3 by Krzysztof Penderecki and String Quartet op. 56 No. 2 by Karol Szymanowski. On August 10 in the Old Town Hall, tenor Piotr Buszewski accompanied by Aleksandra Seredyńska will perform, among others, Four songs op.11 by Karol Szymanowski and selected songs by Stanisław Moniuszko.
