Results of the 60th Tadeusz Baird Young Composers' Competition

The final concert of the 60th Tadeusz Baird Young Composers' Competition, held on 25 June 2019, featured works qualified to the 2nd stage of the competition. The results were announced after the concert.

Among the presented works were: Magic Squares (emblem Triangle), Une saison dans rêve (emblem Rimarth), Singing at the end of the day (emblem Chestnut 12), Sublimation (emblem TBQ), String Quartet Shapes (emblem Maple leave). 

The jury composed of: Eugeniusz Knapik – chairman, Krzysztof Baculewski, Miłosz Bembinow, Arkadiusz Kubica and Hanna Kulenty decided to award the main prize – Tadeusz Baird Award – to the Singing at the end of the day (emblem Chestnut 12). This year's main prize in the amount of $ 2,500 for further compositional studies was funded by Marta Ptaszyńska. The honorable mentiones, funded by the Main Board of the Polish Composers' Union, were given to the Une saison dans rêve (emblem Rimarth) and Sublimation (emblem TBQ). The winners are: Marcin Jachim (Singing at the end of the day), Adam Potera (Une saison dans rêve) and Tomasz Kubiak (Sublimations).

The awards ceremony will take place during this year's "Warsaw Autumn" festival on 25 September.
