Katowice | Leszek Możdżer's "Missa Gratiatoria" at the Silesian Philharmonic

FS

Music lovers will be able to experience the unusual combination of mass mysticism and modern jazz music on 4 October 2019 at 7 p.m. at the Silesian Philharmonic.

The Silesian Philharmonic Choir together with Michał Schoppa, Paweł Tomaszewski, Bartek Pieszka, Krzysztof Nowakowski and Tomasz Kałwak under the baton of Jarosław Wolanin will perform Missa Gratiatoria by the most famous Polish jazzman Leszek Możdżer.

This unique composition proves that each of the forms found in classical music is alive and we can discover its new sides every day. Missa Gratiatoria will be the perfect culmination of a concert abounding with poignant works of sacred music for a cappella choir: Henryk Mikołaj Górecki – Euntes ibant et flebant, Benjamin Britten – Deus in adiutorium meum, Gustav Holst – Nunc dimittis, Morten Lauridsen – Ubi caritas, Ave Maria. The whole programme will take the audience into the world of heavenly sounds produced by a group of the most perfect instruments in the world – human voices.
