Lublin | Symphonic Concert

FL

The symphony concert on 11 October 2019 at 7 p.m. at the Lublin Philharmonic will feature Karol Szymanowski's Etude in B flat minor, Op. 4 No. 3 in the instrumentation by Grzegorz Fitelberg.

Hailed as the greatest Polish composer after Fryderyk Chopin, Karol Szymanowski is an artist whose music is recognized throughout Europe. As a teenager, he composed four piano études, which mainly referred to the achievements of Frederic Chopin and Alexander Skriabin. Etude in B flat minor No. 3 has become particularly popular – often performed Igancy Jan Paderewski during recitals – characterized by a serious and dramatic expression. A few years later, this work was orchestrated by Grzegorz Fitelberg.

Of the 25 piano concertos of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, XXII Piano concert in E flat major KV 482 refers to the general patterns of this genre developed by the composer. What is characteristic of Mozart's work in this area is the shape of the melody of the main theme – noble and decorative, musically "objective". During the upcoming concert, Elżbieta Karaś-Krasztel will perform as a soloist. The programme will be complemented by Symphony No. 4 in D minor by Robert Schumann, master of romantic cantilena. The Lublin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will be directed by Piotr Wijatkowski.
