Musical Meetings Foundation and the Museum of Anna and Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz in Stawisko invite you to the 19th "Musical Confrontations" Festival, which will be held from 10 November to 1 December 2019 under the slogan "Around Szymanowski."
This years's edition of the Festival refers to the work of Karol Szymowski, who was a frequent guest in Stawisko. The programme includes works by selected composers preceding Szymanowski's time, as well as his contemporaries and those artists of the 20th and 21st century (well known or lesser known) whom he inspired.
The list of performers includes Polonika String Quartet, Ravel Piano Duo, violinist Piotr Pławner, soprano Joanna Freszel, pianists Bartłomiej Kominek and Piotr Sałajczyk. In addition, selected texts by Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz and Anna Iwaszkiewicz dedicated to Karol Szymanowski will be presented by Zbigniew Zamachowski and Magdalena Warzecha. The Festival will also feature an exhibition of selected music archives from the museum's collection entitled "Around Szymanowski in Stawisko".
The author of the Festival's concept is musicologist, PhD Alicja Matracka-Kościelny.
The festival is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the "Music" programme implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance; ZAiKS Creative Support Fund.
