Poznań | Stained Glass of Time – premiere of Janusz Stalmierski's concerto

The world premiere of the Piano Concerto 'Stained Glass of Time' ('Witraż czasu') by Prof. Janusz Stalmierski, Rector of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music, will take place on 8 November 2019 at 7 p.m. in the Hall of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The solo part in the piece composed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Poznań Music Academy will be performed by Prof. Joanna Marcinkowska.

Just as the sun coming through the stained glass window makes the dark interior full of colors, so the personalities of outstanding graduates and teachers give the character and splendor to  their Alma Mater. The musicians of the Poznań Philharmonic under the baton of Jakub Chrenowicz will premiere Prof. Janusz Stalmierski's Piano Concerto 'Stained Glass of Time', composed especially for this occasion. The programme will also include compositions by Franz Xaver Scharwenka – Overture to the Mataswinth opera, Roman Palester – Wedding Dances from the ballet The Song of the Earth, and Alexander Tansman – Symphony No. 3 for the violin, viola, cello, piano and orchestra.
