A duo of experimenters and improvisers – Teoniki Rożynek & Qba Janicki – and visual artist Martyna Chojnacka will perform on 20 February 2020 at 8:00 p.m. at the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin as part of the "SoundLab" concert series.
The artists will premiere the composition for amplified percussion, electronics and chamber ensemble, which was inspired by cymatics – the acoustic wave science that deals with the visual representation of sonic phenomena. The visual setting based on generative animation and the processing of cymatic patterns recorded using the loudspeaker installation for fluid stimulation will be performed by Martyna Chojnacka
Teoniki Rożynek and Qba Janicki use the "electronic processing of audio signal generated by acoustic instruments". They have an academic education but are far from obeying classical rules. Their joint activities are primarily characterized by improvisation and expression. They performed together, among others at the Wrocław edition of the Avant Art Festival in 2019, as well as at the International Festival of Contemporary Music and Visual Arts "Mózg Festival" in 2018.
