The 49th Polish Composers' Union Musicological Conference „Theory of Music / Musicology here and now. Resonance of the past – Contemporary challenges" will take place on 25-27 October 2020 at the Academy of Music in Kraków.
With reference to the conference's motto, the organizers suggest the following topics: Musicology – Theory of music. The elemental dialectic?; Understanding music. The idea of experiencing the work; Developing sensitivity and imagination; Music as a message; Music – word – sense ...; Paradigms, thought constructs, concepts and methods... The list of possible issues is – of course – not closed.

This time, the Musicologists' Section of the Polish Composers' Union will combine papers into three-person panels. 10 minutes will be provided for each presentation in such panel, and after three papers (30 minutes) there will be 30 minutes for discussion. The applications will be reviewed by the Programme Committee composed of: Małgorzata Janicka-Słysz, Teresa Malecka, Agnieszka Draus, Natalia Szwab and Beata Bolesławska-Lewandowska.
The conference fee is: PLN 400 (full amount), PLN 300 – for the members of the Polish Composers' Union. Pensioners and non-affiliated persons are entitled to an exemption from the conference fee. The fee does not include travel and accommodation costs. The organizers provide full board, they also offer assistance in booking accommodation.
