A session of the "Stage for Polish Music" programme competition committee took place on 7 April 2020 in the form of a videoconference organised by the Institute of Music and Dance. The committee selected projects to be implemented in the 2020/2021 season.

The “Stage for Polish Music” is a new project of the Institute of Music and Dance aimed at Polish music performers and organised in collaboration with the Warsaw Philharmonic and arts institutions in Poland. Programmes featuring Polish music, selected on the basis of a competition, will be presented at the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Hall and then repeated in other cities in Poland. The goal of the project is to inspire musicians to prepare concert programmes featuring Polish music, promote the performance of Polish musical works as well as draw listeners’ attention to Polish music, especially lesser known pieces.

The jury composed of: Agnieszka Mazur and Michał Sikora (National Philharmonic), Brygida Błaszczyk-Podhajska (Institute of Music and Dance), Jacek Rogala (Oskar Kolberg Świętokrzyska Philharmonic in Kielce) and Szymon Makowski (Lower Silesian Philharmonic in Jelenia Góra) decided to co-finance 10 out of 147 applications. The awarded projects were submitted by Jacek Kortus, Agata Schmidt and Bartłomiej Wezner, Książek Piano Duo, Polish Violin Duo, Bastarda Trio, Meccore String Quartet, Kraków Wind Quintet / Kraków Reed Trio, Chopin Piano Quintet, Ensemble Barocum and Contemporary Music Ensemble Cooperative. When selecting programmes, the committee considered the level of performance of applying artists, the diversity of the repertoire offer covering a wide range of periods and musical forms, and programme diversity in the context of artistic seasons planned by the participating institutions.
