The Phasma-Music Foundation invites you to the 4th International Kwidzyn Music Spring Festival, which will be held online under the slogan "Farewell to spring – hello to summer" from 30 June to 1 July 2020.
The originator of the Festival is Iwona Glinka – flautist, teacher, performer of new experimental music. The idea of the Festival is to present the most interesting interpretations of music from different eras as well as artistic projects inspired by music. The festival aims at promoting classical music among the residents of the city of Kwidzyn and the Kwidzyn poviat.
This year's edition will feature pianist Gajusz Kęska, lecturer at the Kraków Academy of Music, and the ExQuartet string quartet, composed of concert masters and members of the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic Orchestra in Szczecin. We will hear pieces by Fryderyk Chopin, Karol Szymanowski, Phillip Glass, Carl Loewe and Dorothee Eberhardt as well as three world premieres: In memoriam Beethoven for piano by Michail Travlos, String Quartet in Memoriam John Carastathis by Arisa Carastathis and String Theory by Aaron Alter.
The festival was co-financed by the Mayor of Kwidzyn.
The concert broadcasts will be held on TV Kwidzyn, its YouTube channel and the Kwidzyn International Music Festival Facebook page.
