Waclaw Electroacoustic / The Contemporaries about Wacław of Szamotuły is a series of three films combining the figure of Wacław of Szamotuły with electronic music. The film materials will present the Renaissance artist and his selected works, and most importantly, the premieres of new electroacoustic pieces inspired by Szamotulczyk.
The authors of contemporary works are young, recognised Poznań composers: Konrad Handschuh, Jan Skorupa and Marek Raczyński. The project aims at bridging the gap between the music of the Polish Renaissance and contemporary compositional techniques and visual solutions. All compositions will be enriched with visuals, created by artists from Poznań: Paulina Wyrt and the band Liquidacje. The pieces by Wacław of Szamotuły, as well as contemporary compositions, will be recorded by the Poznań Vocal Group Minimus conducted by Sławomira Raczyńska. The films will be available for free on YouTube.
The premiere of the first film will take place on 19 September 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
The organizer of the project, which is financed under the "Culture on the web" programme of the National Centre for Culture, is the Musica Minima Association.
