"With classics through Poland": music for string quartet

IMiTNext concerts as part of the "With classics through Poland" series will take place on 4 September 2020 in Skarbek Park in Grodzisk Mazowiecki (6.00 p.m.), on 5 September at Ojrzanów Palace in Żabia Wola (5.00 p.m.) and on 6 September at the Municipal Cultural Center in Tarczyn (7.00 p.m.).

The aim of the project, which began in the second half of 2019, is to bring music performed by the most outstanding Polish artists to smaller community centres, cities, towns and villages; to reach audiences who have difficult access to classical music. Through contact with the great art and artists, new audiences are being introduced to the world of classical chamber music, having a chance to become its new enthusiasts.

During the next concerts, the music of Joseph Haydn, Stanisław Moniuszko and Karol Szymanowski will be performed by the Ãtma Quartet: Katarzyna Gluza (violin), Paulina Marcisz (violin), Karalina Orsik-Sauter (viola) and Edyta Słomska (cello). Four outstanding instrumentalists, graduates of Polish music academies, have been busy giving concerts at home and abroad, popularizing chamber music, particularly, works by Polish composers. The quartet won the 1st Prize and three special awards in the 2nd Karol Szymanowski International Competition for String Quartets in Katowice (2017), an incentive award and the Bärenreiter Urtext Prize in the International Competition ‘Franz Schubert and Modern Music’ in Graz (2018), the 3rd Prize in the 1st Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition in Katowice (2018), the 3rd Prize in the Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award in Lugano (2019), and the 2nd Prize in the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music in Rzeszów (2019).

The project is carried out by the Polish Music Management, operating at the Institute of Music and Dance, thanks to the support of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Prof. Piotr Gliński and under his patronage.

Admission to the concerts is free, however invitations are required.
