Łódź | Premiere of "Three Imaginary Dances" by Krzysztof Grzeszczak

The first chamber concert of the new season at the Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic in Łódź on 6 October 2020 at 7.00 p.m. will premiere Krzysztof Grzeszczak'sThree Imaginary Dances for chamber orchestra.

Krzysztof Grzeszczak (PhD, Habil.) has been teaching at the Academy of Music in Łódź since 1999. In 2001 he became a member of the Polish Composers' Union. He is a laureate of composition competitions in Poland and abroad. He has received the Rector's Award of the Academy of Music in Łódź for his compositional output and was awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit. For many years, he has been organist and organiser of choral, organ and chamber music concerts in churches in Łódź and co-organizer of the Musica Moderna Session. His latest work will be premiere by the PRIMUZ Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Łukasz Błaszczyk.

The concert will also feature renowned soprano Olga Pasiecznik. The artist performs on the world's best stages. For many years she was associated with the Warsaw Chamber Opera, currently she is a soloist of the Polish Royal Opera in Warsaw. Her repertoire includes mainly romantic and impressionist songs as well as contemporary music. In Łódź, the artist will perform Benjamin Britten's Illuminations, composed in 1939 to words by Arthur Rimbaud. Moreover, the programme will include Zdzisław Szostak's Agnus Dei in the version for soprano, violin and chamber orchestra. The violin part will be performed by Dominika Sznajder.
