Results of the H.M. Górecki International Composers' Competition

FS2020 marks the 10th anniversary of the death of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. In order to commemorate the composer and give young artists the opportunity to premiere and promote their works, the Silesian Philharmonic announced a composition competition named after its Patron, connected with this year's 8th edition of the International Days of H.M. Górecki.

37 compositions were submitted to the competition and all of them met the competition conditions. After analyzing all the submitted works, the Jury awarded the following prizes.

The second prize in the form of the premiere performance of the piece during the International Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Days with professional audiovisual recording was awarded to Piotr Pudełko for Pater Noster for mixed choir a cappella. The third prize, ex aequo, was awarded to Hubert Żmudzki for Je est un autre for mixed choir a cappella and Adrianna Kubica-Cypek for L'été to words by Victor Hugo for mixed choir a cappella or 16 solo voices.

The first prize and honourable mentions were not awarded.

The jury was composed of: Eugeniusz Knapik, Mikołaj Piotr Górecki, Jerzy Kornowicz, Jarosław Wolanin and Adam Wesołowski.
