"Contemporary music doesn’t bite": Alicja Gronau

PTMWThe Polish Society for Contemporary Music invites you on 10 November 2020 at 6.00 p.m. to an online meeting with renowned composer Alicja Gronau as part of the series „Contemporary music doesn’t bite!".

Alicja Gronau graduated theory of music (with prof. Witold Rudzinski), composition (with prof. Marian Borkowski) and Postgraduate Studies of Music Theory (all with distinctions) at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (Poland). At present she is professor (Ph. Dr. Hab.) in that University, she’s head of Chair of Theory of Music and FCUM Doctoral Studies. Her pieces were awarded of many composing competitions at home and abroad. Her pieces were often performed during festivals in Poland and abroad. Her didactic and science activity is concentrated on creative teaching, Dalcroze Method, integrated education, complete music analysis, musical-movement analysis, studies in 20th century music, compositional workshop and technique.

Due to the current pandemic situation, this year's meetings with contemporary music composers, members of the Polish Composers' Union, are held in the form of online broadcasts on the website www.ptmw.art.pl and on the Society's Facebook profile. The project was co-financed by the National Centre for Culture as part of the "Culture on the Web" programme.
